making do

I left my sketchbook at home today. I found some old 3x5 cards in the supply closet to sketch on during meetings. Now I simply have to remember to tape/glue it into the sketchbook when I get home.

Meeting scribbles

In addition to being in the office 5 days per week, I am now required to have daily meetings to report on my progress. I stay sane by sketching. Thirty minutes to 2 hours of sketching per day sure feels good. I can almost tolerate working a day job this way.

some good things

I have been sitting through a lot of meetings lately. I would not survive without my sketchbook.

Inspiration found again

On Saturday, I went to the Oregon Contemporary museum for the first time. It is a lovely little gallery that would probably fit on the main floor of my house. Nonetheless, seeing others' art inspired me as always. Sunday I set up my easel, pulled out my pastels, and had a good time. It was like finding a piece of me that I had forgotten. Already I am considering the subject matter for the next piece. ❤

Spring ramblings

Maple flowers.

This is my first full spring in the newish house. It is fun to watch trees I've on;y known as green surprise me with blooms.

Magnolia and weeping cherry.

I can often be found on long walks in the neighborhood, and nearby parks to document the other flowering plants.
jonquils - I'm going to have to plant some this fall!

crocuses!

Something blooming in the woods, woodsorrel?

red slug devouring a dandelion

What is your favorite part of spring?

It's a fabric art time of year. I started this quilt top years and years ago. I look forward to finally sleeping under it.
