I'm really glad to see that the Illustration Smackdown is up and running. What a fun idea.
And--I might just know the Mike Cole who did that other wild boar painting! Or rather, might have known him when I was a kid. Have fired off a note to the parental units to inquire. If it's the fellow I'm thinking of, he did a lot of art at the San Bernardino County Museum, when I was in the 6-10 year old range...
